Philippines Joins 32nd ASTCC General Meeting to Strengthen Regional Trade Ties

The Manila Economic and Cultural Office (MECO) Chairperson and Resident Representative Atty. Cheloy E. Velicaria‑Garafil, MNSA and Philippine Trade and Investment Center (PTIC) in Taipei Director Anthony B. Rivera, were invited to represent the Philippines at the opening ceremony of the 32nd Annual General Meeting of the Asia Taiwanese Chambers of Commerce (ASTCC) on July 17 at the Grand Hilai Taipei.

The gathering brought together approximately 1,000 delegates, including entrepreneurs, investors, corporate executives, and government officials from 19 member countries and territories, marking it as a key forum for advancing regional trade and collaboration.

Founded in 1993, ASTCC represents over 9,500 Taiwanese business leaders across Asia. Its primary mission is to foster robust commercial linkages and drive economic growth in the region through strategic partnerships and cross-border cooperation.

MECO’s presence underscores its commitment to supporting regional economic integration and strengthening the Philippines’ engagement with Asia’s business community.
