Taipei, Taiwan - A total of 6,500 Filipino Migrant workers arrived in Taiwan according to the recent Ministry of Labor statistics.

This is after Taiwan has re-opened its borders to Filipino migrant workers on 15 February 2022 after almost a year of suspension of their return due to the COVID-19 pandemic.

Beginning 15 June, Taiwan has further shortened quarantine for arriving passengers from the 7+7 to a 3+4 scheme, where mandatory quarantine was adjusted from seven days of mandatory quarantine plus seven days of self-health management to only three days of mandatory quarantine plus four days of self-health management.

Conversely, the Philippines has opened its borders to fully vaccinated travelers.

Meanwhile, the Philippine Bureau of Quarantine has received instructions from the IATF to recognize Taiwan’s Medigen COVID-19 vaccine in compliance with the mutual recognition of Digital Vaccination Cards between the PHL and TWN.

At the same time, the Manila Economic and Cultural Office is now accepting applications for single-entry, multiple, and transit visas at its offices in Taipei and Kaohsiung.
