MECO Welcomes New Labor Attaché in Taipei

The Manila Economic and Cultural Office officially welcomes Atty. Alejandro A. Padaen as the new Labor Attaché of the Migrant Workers Office (MWO) in Taipei. He arrived in Taiwan on Friday and formally assumed his post on 28 July 2025.
A seasoned public servant and advocate for the rights and welfare of OFWs, Atty. Padaen previously served as Labor Attaché in Jeddah, Al Khobar, Kuwait, Abu Dhabi, and Lebanon. Before his overseas assignments, he worked with the Adjudication Division of the Philippine Overseas Employment Administration (POEA), now under the Department of Migrant Workers (DMW).
Upon assumption of his duties, Labatt Padaen met with MECO Chairperson and Resident Representative Atty. Cheloy E. Velicaria-Garafil, MNSA.
MECO looks forward to working closely with Labatt Padaen in strengthening services for OFWs in Taiwan and continuing the mission of promoting and protecting their welfare.
