Incoming storm Kong-rey intensified into a moderate typhoon Tuesday morning (Oct. 29), according to PAGASA, the main meteorological agency of the Philippines.
The Central Weather Administration of Taiwan (CWA) issued heavy rain and wind advisories for parts of Taiwan, projecting the storm to intensify its effects on the islands starting Wednesday and could make landfall East of Taiwan by Thursday evening.
MECO urges all those in the area to take all necessary precautionary measures to ensure safety and reduce risk from the possible significant weather disruptions.
