Advisory for all Filipinos in Taiwan on the 2019 Overseas Voting

Posted: 3/13/2019 12:00 AM

The oversees voting for twelve (12) senators and one (1) party list will start on 13 April 2019 until 13 May 2019. Registered overseas voters can cast their votes at any of the three MECO offices in Taiwan where they registered. These offices are in Taipei, Taichung, and Kaohsiung.  All three MECO offices shall be open during the whole election period for overseas voting including holidays, Saturdays and Sundays from 9AM to 5PM.

The mode for the overseas voting will be automated and there will be Voting Counting Machines or VCMs that will be sent by COMELEC-Manila to Taiwan. MECO shall post on its official website and on its social media accounts, when possible, the information and instruction regarding automated voting. COMELEC will also provide information regarding automated voting in its website, www.comelec.gov.ph.

It is important for voters to check for their names in the Certified List of Voters or CLOV sent by COMELEC and published in the MECO website and MECO Facebook page. Furthermore, it is important for the voters to know in which MECO office they registered.

For those who have been inquiring if they can still register for the 2019 overseas voting, the official deadline of overseas voting was last 30 September 2018. Those who failed to register for the 2019 mid-term elections will not be allowed to vote, including those whose names were deleted from the CLOV.
