Reminder for Filipinos entering and working in Taiwan about bringing and purchasing pork products

Posted: 2/15/2019 12:00 AM

The Manila Economic and Cultural Office reminds all Filipinos traveling to Taiwan that bringing of any products made of pork is punishable by a penalty fine of as much as NT$ 1,000,000. Failure to pay for the penalty fine will automatically lead to denial of entry and ban from entering Taiwan. The violator’s right to seek employment in Taiwan in the future will also be affected.

For Filipinos already working in Taiwan, avoid purchasing products made of pork shipped from outside Taiwan particularly those from the affected countries. In case you received a pork product from unknown sources, please report to 0800-039-131 and allow authorities to handle disposal.

The Taiwanese authorities implement these aforementioned guidelines as standard advisory. They have the right to modify and interpret this policy.
